Four college students drown in tank

BANGALORE:
Four students of a pharmacy college in Chikkabanavara drowned at the Chikkabanavara Tank on Sunday evening, while one student survived with minor injuries.
Police said Raghuveer, Naresh, Srivastava, Sukumar and Praveen, all students of first year B. Pharm at RR Pharmacy College and hailing from Andhra Pradesh, ventured into the tank for a swim.
When Raguveer and Naresh were caught in a bog and cried for help, Srivastava and Sukhram went to their rescue. However, all the four were caught in the bog and died. Praveen however managed to escape. He was admitted to a hospital.
The bodies were fished out on Monday morning and have been shifted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital for post-mortem.
The Soladevanahalli police have registered a case and are investigating. Police said the parents of deceased students have been informed and they have reached the city to collect the bodies.
