Man killed over financial dispute

BANGALORE: A man dealing with machinery and industry spare parts was beaten to death over a financial dispute in Bannerghatta Police Station limits on Monday.

Police said Murulidhar, a resident of Huluvalli Road, was supposed to pay Rs. 4.5 lakh to Majinder Singh after a settlement on vacating an industrial premises.

When Singh demanded payment on Monday, an altercation took place.

Murulidhar, his wife and son allegedly hit Singh on his head with a wooden log. Singh, a resident of Wilson Garden, died to injuries.

The Bannerghatta Police have registered a case of murder and have arrested the accused.

Stabbed to death

One person was stabbed to death following a drunken brawl in the KG Halli Police Station limits on Sunday night.

The police gave the name of the deceased as Babu (32), resident of Sarvabhoumanagar, KG Halli. Babu and his friend Kutty went to a bar on Ambedkar Medical College Road. After a drink, a quarrel ensued between them and Kutty allegedly stabbed Babu. A profusely bleeding Babu was shifted to a nearby hospital where he died.

Suicide

A housewife committed suicide by hanging at her residence, allegedly due to dowry harassment, in Chandra Layout Police Station limits on Saturday.

Police gave the name of the deceased as Lakshmi (27), wife of Vajramuni, resident of Kalyanagar.

The couple were married since one and a half years.

In his complaint to the police, Lakshmi's brother, Vijaya Kumar, a resident of Mandya, alleged that his sister was being harassed for dowry by her husband and in-laws. Chandra Layout Polic

Arrested

The Vidhana Soudha police have arrested four persons on charges of vehicle theft and robbery, and recovered from them motorcycles and other valuables worth Rs. 1.5 lakh. Police gave the names of the accused as Senthil (21), Satish (25), Rajesh (19) and K. Shiva (19), residents of Sriramapuram.

Police said Senthil, Satish and Rajesh were nabbed during vehicle checking when they did not provide proper proof for the ownership of a motorcycle on August 14.

During investigation, they admitted to having stolen the vehicle from Chikpet police station limits and reportedly said they had stolen two more motorcycles.

On their information, Shiva was also nabbed the next day. Police recovered 10 mobile phone handsets, one digital diary, three gold chains and other valuables from them.
