Dalmiya to appear before Disciplinary Committee
Kolkata:
A city court on Tuesday directed the former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jagmohan Dalmiya, to appear before the Disciplinary Committee of the Board, if asked by it, after he is provided with the documents related to the misappropriation of funds charge against him.
Chief Judge P.K. Sarkar of the City Civil Court here asked the BCCI to give Mr. Dalmiya the documents, on which the Board is to rely upon for proceeding against him, before August 29. The documents relate to the PILCOM (Pakistan India Lanka Committee for the 1996 World Cup) accounts.
The BCCI was asked to submit an affidavit stating which documents had been supplied to Mr. Dalmiya.
The court directed Mr. Dalmiya to complete the inspection and file his reply on the proceedings to the Board by September 9. The Board can summon him before the Disciplinary Committee a week after that.
Earlier, it was mutually agreed upon by Mr. Dalmiya's lawyers and the BCCI that the former Board president would appear before the Committee provided he was given all the documents related to the misappropriation of funds charge against him. PTI
