Prince of Arcot commends Manmohan's statement

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali on Tuesday commended Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement that terrorism should not be linked to Islam or any other religion.

In a statement here, he praised Dr.Singh for stating that any act of violence by any individual or group must be ascribed to that particular individual or organisation, rather than the religion they professed.

The Prince also thanked the United Progressive Alliance Government's "full support and sincere efforts to bring the real culprits to book and punish them severely, according to the law of the land."

He expressed the hope that acts of terrorism would receive a thorough, fair and impartial investigation.
