Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Telangana and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres: Vedaranyam 8, Sathanur Dam (Tiruvannamalai dt.) and Kangeyam (Erode dt.) 7.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Thali (Krishnagiri dt.) and Kadavur (Karur dt.) 6 each, Kovilankulam (Virudhunagar dt.) 5, Gingee (Villupuram dt.), Chengam (Tiruvannamalai dt.) and Denkanikottai (Krishnagiri dt.) 4 each

Forecast (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Rayalaseema.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry: (Valid until Thursday morning): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
