Bidar: People of Otagi in Humnabad taluk locked the government Kannada and Urdu higher primary schools in their village to protest against lack of teachers. Protestors locked the school for three hours. They dispersed only after zilla panchayat member Padmakar Patil reached the spot and promised to depute teachers in a week. Other than parents, the protesters included School Development and Management Committee president and members, taluk and gram panchayat members and even members of the local primary agriculture credit cooperative society. "The Urdu-medium school has 150 students but only one teacher. There are 350 students in the Kannada-medium school but only seven teachers, " they said.
