IRDP Onam fair to be held in Kollam from August 29

KOLLAM: The IRDP Onam fair in Kollam will begin at the Municipal Town Hall complex on August 29. The mela is being jointly organised by the Local Administration Department and the District Panchayat.

Products worth Rs.50 lakh produced by the IRDP units, women self-help groups and mahila samajams will be on sale.

An organising committee with district panchayat president K. Devaki as chairperson, vice-president C.P. Sudheesh Kumar and Collector B. Srinivas as vice-chairmen has been constituted. The exhibits are handloom items, honey, rice flakes, pickles, reed baskets, leather items, mats, farm tools, handicrafts, dried fish, cane products, forest produce, seeds, readymade garments, mattresses and bakery items.
