Varsities' non-teaching staff to hold meeting in SVU

15 universities in the State will be represented at the meet in SVU

TIRUPATI: Sri Venkateswara University will host the three-day Andhra Pradesh inter-university non-teaching staff games and cultural meet-2006 from August 30. The inaugural will be held at the tennis courts on the campus and the valedictory at Srinivasa Auditorium.

Nearly 450 participants from 15 universities in the State will convene here for the event, aimed at facilitating increased interaction among the employees of various universities. Shuttle badminton, ball badminton, volleyball, kabaddi and cricket are among those figuring in the games section. In the cultural session, drama (one act play), mono action, mimicry, dance competitions (solo/group in break, classical, folk and film) and songs competitions (both men and women) will be conducted.

Defending champs

SVU was the champion in ball badminton, shuttle badminton, volleyball and cricket in the previous meet held at Hyderabad. Qualified officials from respective sports associations and SAAP have been invited to conduct the games, while eminent artistes will judge the cultural events.
