Two bills introduced
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Two bills were introduced by the Commerical Taxes Minister Konathala Ramakrishna, in the Assembly on Tuesday.
The first one is for amending the Andhra Pradesh Value Added Tax Act, 2005, for incorporating a provision specifying the functions of the Appellate Tribunal. It is also aimed at granting refunds of excess tax paid by the dealers in deserving cases.
The second one is for amending the Andhra Pradesh Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments, the AP Tax on Entry of Motor Vehicles into Local Areas, the AP Tax on Entry of Goods into Local Areas Acts (Amendment) Act, 2006. This was aimed at "averting" the necessity to refund the entry tax already paid by the exporters on the inputs imported by them from outside the State and used in the manufacture of finished products, with effect from January 2, 2006 instead of retrospective effect from April 1, 2005.
