NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has issued notices to the Union Government, the Chairman of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, and others on a petition seeking directions to the Government to implement a one-man inquiry committee report and dissolve and reconstitute the governing body of the Institute to protect its autonomy. A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Kailash Gambhir directed the respondents to file replies to the petition by Devinder Singh, an academician, by November 13.The petitioner urged the Court to direct the Chairman of the Institute to take action against former Chairman G. C. Pandey and former Director Bhuvan Chandel "for various acts of omission and commission".
