NEW DELHI: Despite the demand for power in the Capital crossing 3500 MW mark on Tuesday, there was no load-shedding in Delhi as supplies from Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa among other States ensured that the city did not have to endure long and unscheduled power cuts. Delhi Transco Director (Operations) S. R. Sethi said there was no load-shedding during the day and Delhi was quite comfortable as far as the supply of power was concerned. But while there was no load-shedding during the day, apprehensions of power cuts late in the night remained. For on Monday also -- as in the past few days and weeks -- the Capital recorded its peak demand of 3,568 MW late in the night at 11 p.m. This demand on Monday night was met through a 478 MW supply from Genco and Pragati plant, 407 MW from Badarpur Thermal Power station and 2,683 MW import from the Northern Grid.
