MANGALORE: Chitrabharati, film distribution and production house here, will organise a two-day programme in connection with its 35th anniversary celebrations from Friday. The activities include conferring of Chitrabharati awards to achievers in various fields, a Tulu film festival, photo exhibition, cultural programmes, seminar and felicitations to technicians and artistes along with the anniversary celebrations.

T.A. Srinivas, chairman of Chitrabharati, told presspersons here on Tuesday that the anniversary celebration of the organisation coincided with 35 years of Tulu cinema. He said the organising committee decided to focus on Tulu cinema, language and its cause during the course of the event. He said the celebration would get under way with inauguration of `Tulu Chitrotsava' by eminent director K.N. Tailor at Jyothi Talkies on Friday at 10 a.m. Tulu movies will be screened at various cinemas in the city. M.K. Seetharam Kulal, president, Tulu Sahitya Academy, will inaugurate a photo exhibition at the Town Hall at 11 a.m. D.T. Jayakumar, Minister for housing, would preside over the anniversary celebrations to be held at Town Hall at 5 p.m. Leading film distributors and exhibitors from Dakshina Kannada district will be felicitated on the occasion. A cultural programme encompassing film songs, folk and devotional songs and sugam sangeetha by Kasturi Kamath and Sharath Kumar will be highlight of the evening.
