Judgment hailed

BANGALORE: The judgment of the High Court sentencing to life the person who threw acid on Haseena will set a precedent and act as a deterrent, said the Campaign and Struggle Against Acid Attacks on Women (CSAAAW). The organisation, which has been campaigning for the rights of acid attack survivors, said the High Court had displayed sensitivity to the plight of Haseena. This was the first judgment in the State on acid attack cases, the CSAAAW said.
