BANGALORE: Two women committed suicide on Monday night allegedly because of personal and family problems. According to police, Bhanumati (31), working in a clinic, hanged herself at her house in Ramaswamypalya. Her frustration over rejection of marriage proposals was stated to be reason for taking the extreme step. Bhanumati's sister-in-law noticed the body and lodged a complaint with the Basawadi police. Saraswati (20) hanged herself at her house in Ganapathi Nagar near Hoskerihalli Road. The police said Saraswati, who was married to Kantaraj four years ago, had frequent quarrels with her husband over domestic issues. She hanged herself with her sari. Later Kantaraj took her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.
Found dead
A 35-year old man was found dead near a level crossing of K.R. Puram railway station on Tuesday morning. The police said the victim had been bludgeoned and had been thrown next to the railway track. The Cantonment Railway police have registered a case.
Woman robbed
An elderly woman was robbed of her gold chain in her house in Laxminarayanapura in Sriramapura police station limits on Monday evening. Police said Hanumamma was watching television along with her grandchildren in her house. After some time, she went to the second floor, where a person threatened her with knife. The miscreant snatched her gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 and escaped.
