Power shutdown

There will be no power supply on Assaye Road, Promenade Road 1st and 2nd Cross and surrounding areas on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) will take up maintenance works.

Admission tickets

The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has sent admission tickets to all the eligible candidates for Gazetted Probationers' Preliminary examination to be held on September 10. Eligible candidates who have not received admission tickets can approach KPSC after August 28 to obtain duplicate tickets by paying Rs. 25 through P.O./DD. The payments can be made to the Secretary, Karnataka Public Service Commission, Bangalore.

AIR programme

All India Radio, Bangalore, in its Medium Wave on 612 KHz will broadcast a live programme under the series "Hello! Tunta, Hello! Tunti" in its Balagopala programme for children on Wednesday. Ophthalmologist C.P. Thirumalachar will talk about protection of eyes. Children can participate by calling 22370477, 22370488 and 22370499.

Job-oriented training

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, PES Institute of Technology, will conduct a job oriented six-month free vocational training programme in turner, fitter, welding and sheet metal trades for school dropouts from September 1. Alternative healing

Om Shree Baba Vishwashanthi Arogya Alternative Healing and Yoga Mandira will conduct a free alternative healing camp for back pain, spondylitis, head ache, arthritis, asthma, diabetes, obesity, nervous and gastric disorders from Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Details can be had on 28388811, 9342892398.

Training programme

Pulsetone Industries will conduct a three-week full-time intensive job oriented training programme in mobile phone software and hardware repairs from September 4. Two-day seminar

Sarvodaya International Trust and Ashirvad International Religious Harmony Movement will jointly conduct a two-day seminar for educators on "Promotion of Ethical Leadership among Youth" from August 23 at Ashirwad on St. Marks Road. Former Lokayukta N. Venkatachala will deliver the keynote address at 9.30 a.m. Over 100 principals and schoolteachers are expected to attend the seminar.
