14 killed in road accident in Dhubri district of Assam

Fourteen passengers including four children were killed and eight others injured in a road accident in lower Assam's Dhubri district on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred when the passengers were returning home after visiting a five-year old `miracle faith healer' Amir Hussain at Kachuarkhas, 8 km off Dhubri town.
According to the police, a private carrier with the 24 passengers belonging two families collided with a truck coming from opposite direction near Makrijhora under Bogoribari police station around 11:30 a.m. The private carrier did not have a registration number.
Eight persons died on the spot while six others succumbed in hospital.
The condition of the injured is said to be critical.
