Tips on placement techniques

A training programme on `placement' was organised at Thiruvalluvar College, Papanasam, recently by the Centre for Career Guidance and Vocational Training, in association with Rotary Club of Ambasamudram and GUIMax Educational Academy on the college premises to enable the third-year and postgraduate students to acquaint themselves with various placement techniques.

While the Principal Sankarasubramoniam presided over, the president of the Rotary Club of Ambasamudram M. Michael Ponraj appealed to the students to develop their employability by studying various study materials relating to current affairs and competitive examinations.

The Managing Director of GUIMax Educational Private Limited, Chennai, and trainer of the programme R.G. Sankarapandian gave tips on placement and appealed to the students to develop communication skills.

A preliminary test on placement was conducted, in which Jayalakshmi, a III B.Sc. Mathematics student, secured the highest marks and got the `Best Performer' award.

A poetry book release function at Sadakkathullah Appa College, Rahmath Nagar near Palayamkottai was held recently on behalf of the college's `Seethakaathi Thamizh Paeravai.'

While the Director of self-financing courses A. Shahul Hameed presided over the function and released the books, `Koochchalgal' and `Nagaichuvai Virunthu', authored by Thaazhai Mu. Shaik Dasan, the Head of the Department of Tamil S. Mahadevan introduced them.

G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti, observed its Patron's Day as the Social Welfare Day recently.

As part of the celebrations, the Health Club and NSS unit of the college conducted an eye camp at Government Higher Secondary at Sippiparai near Kovilpatti. A team from Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli, attended to 540 children from the school and 100 students from the college.

Scott Christian College (Autonomous) in Nagercoil conducted one-day seminar on renewable energy recently.

More than 200 students participated.
