Committee to examine restructuring of posts

Special Correspondent

Works Secretary A. Anbarasu to head the panel

Pondicherry: The Lt. Governor has, by partial modification of an order issued on August 14 setting up an official committee for considering the pleas of Government staff for restructuring of various posts, expanded the committee into a four-member panel.

Earlier, the Government had named a single member to the panel (Secretary to the Works Department A. Anbarasu).

Four-member panel

A release from the Under Secretary to Government V. Kannabiran said here on Wednesday that the four-member committee has Mr. A. Anbarasu as Chairman and Joint Secretary to Administrative Reforms Wing, the Under Secretary to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms and the Under Secretary to Finance Department as other members of the panel.

The Under Secretary to Finance Department is member secretary of the committee and the Department of Finance would render the secretarial assistance.

The committee would peruse the representations case by case and make recommendations to the Finance Department for consideration.

Representatives of the staff associations could also present their views and suggestions to the committee, which would also enlist the views of the respective departments before finalising the report.
