LONDON: Dimitar Berbatov and Jermaine Jenas scored in the first 17 minutes and Tottenham recovered from its opening day loss to beat promoted Sheffield United 2-0 on Tuesday. In Tuesday's other Premier League game, West Ham came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with promoted Watford. Martin Jol's Spurs looked nothing like the side that finished fifth last season when it was beaten 2-0 by Bolton on Saturday. But it regained its swagger with two early strikes against the Blades at White Hart Lane. New signing Berbatov scored in his home debut after seven minutes when the Bulgarian redirected a cross from England winger Aaron Lennon. Jenas added the second from close range in the 17th after Robbie Keane and Berbatov combined to open the visitor's defence. After losing to Everton on the opening day, Watford thought it was headed for a victory when Marlon King scored with a 30-meter shot into the top corner. The lead lasted just two minutes, however. Bobby Zamora volleyed a cross from Paul Konchesky for his third goal in two games. AP
