BJP to await action of TRS

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: State BJP president N. Indrasena Reddy has said that the party would decide after a meeting if the TRS proposed to join hands with it in the struggle for creating a separate Telangana State.

Replying to questions at a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy said: "The TRS has not yet declared that it would join us. We will see what they will do." He, however, accused the TRS leadership of "mortgaging" Telangana sentiment in Delhi by remaining in the UPA Government for more than two years in spite of being told that they would be "deceived" by the Congress.

Dubbing the Congress as "anti-Telangana", he demanded the party spell out its stand on bifurcation. He faulted the TRCC leaders for remaining silent on the issue and demanded that the Congress introduce a bill in Parliament if it was sincere about granting Statehood. Earlier, a BJP delegation met Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and submitted a representation urging the Government to celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17. Mr. Indrasena Reddy said Dr. Reddy promised to consider the `request'.
