KARACHI : Former Pakistan allrounder Wasim Raja died of a heart attack on Wednesday in London, a Pakistan team official said. He was 54. The assistant manager of the Pakistan touring side in London told Reuters that Wasim died while playing in a club match. He played 57 Tests between 1973 and 1985, scoring 2821 runs with four centuries. He also took 51 wickets. He also played 54 ODIs. He was coach of the Pakistan team in 1997 and was also an International Cricket Council (ICC) elite panel match referee. He had settled in London after marrying an Englishwoman while studying in Durham. His younger brother, Rameez Raja has also played Test cricket and captained Pakistan. Agencies
