Kochi: A Full Bench of the Kerala High Court decided on Wednesday to frame contempt-of-court charges against the former Minister for Local Administration Cherkalam Abdulla for taking out a procession in violation of the court directives. The Bench, comprising Justice J. B. Koshy, Justice A.K. Basheer and Justice K.P. Balachandran, found that he had prima facie violated the directives on taking out processions and demonstrations through roads. Mr. Abdulla had earlier appeared in person at the court and denied the charge. The court directed him to again appear in person on September 27 when charges would be framed. The judges were of the view that it was a case in which charges should be framed.
