ALAPPUZHA: Mahila Congress State unit president Shanimol Usman has asked the Kerala Congress (J) leader K.C. Joseph to reveal details of the report of a committee constituted by the party State executive in 1995 to investigate allegations against one of its top leaders in connection with his journey to Germany.

``There had been serious allegations against a leader at that time that he misbehaved with a woman on the aircraft while flying to Germany,'' said Ms. Usman at a press conference here on Tuesday.

She said the KC(J) executive committee that met at Kottayam following the allegations had formed an inquiry committee comprising K.C. Joseph, M.V. Mani and George Sebastian.

The committee held its sittings at Ernakulam three times and was learnt to have found the truth. She demanded that Mr. K.C. Joseph who spoke about a conspiracy behind the recent allegations against Minister for Public Works P.J. Joseph had the responsibility to reveal the findings of the committee.

Ms. Shanimol said the "silence'' of Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on the allegations was not befitting his image as a crusader against abuse of women.

Asked why the woman, who complained to the pilot that Mr. P.J. Joseph had misbehaved with her on a flight from Chennai to Kochi, failed to lodge a written complaint with the Chief Minister, Ms. Usman said there was no need for it. A complaint had been lodged with the appropriate authorities, and that was enough. Mr. Achuthanandan could take action suo motu action.
