MYSORE: Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Wednesday staged a dharna against the sale of colas and sought a ban on them in the State. They said despite the documentary evidence by the Centre for Science and Environment over the presence of pesticide residue in colas, the Centre and the State Government did not initiate any action. The Centre for Science and Environment's report was based on the analysis of samples collected from 12 States. The Centre and the State Government were not taking interest in safeguarding the health of citizens. They urged the Government to impose a ban on film and cricket stars endorsing soft drinks.
