MYSORE: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysore Zone, will organise a session on "Special Economic Zone" (SEZ) at Hotel Lalitha Mahal Palace here on Friday. According to a statement, the session is aimed at providing representatives of the industry with an opportunity to understand the SEZ policy and clarify certain practical aspects related to it. The session will have speakers from the industry. Development Commissioner of Kochi SEZ C.J. Mathew will provide inputs to the session as a policymaker. B. Jayaraman, convener of Economic Affairs and Public Policy panel of CII, Karnataka, will deliver the welcome address. Manager of BMR Associates Kalpesh Maroo will provide an "Overview of the SEZ Act". K. Madhushan, general manager (Corporate Finance and Taxation), Prestige Group, will make a presentation on "SEZs - an industry perspective". Mr. Matthew will speak on "Policy and procedural aspects in relation to SEZs". S G Natarajan, convenor of Finance and Taxation panel, CII Mysore Zone, will be present.
