Hyderabad varsity, United Technologies sign MoU

HYDERABAD: The University of Hyderabad and United Technologies Corporation have signed an MoU to establish Pratt & Whitney Endowed Chair in Science and Engineering at the Department of Science & Technology that would hep the University to offer advanced courses in Materials Management and Nano-technology.

The president & COO of United Technologies, Louis Chenevert, said there would be a continuing demand for world class talent and hoped that this endowment would help the University to attract high calibre faculty and students to ensure a bright future for both the institutions.

University Vice-Chancellor Syed E. Hasnain felt the agreement would enable further growth of the fast growing engineering services industry in Hyderabad with a resulting positive impact on the city's economic development. University Registrar Y. Narasimhulu, who signed the MoU, said the endowment had brought the University into the league of institutions offering education and research in Materials Management and Nano-technology.
