Consultants conduct pre-departure meet for students

CHENNAI:
Education consultants `The Chopras' conducted a pre-departure get-together for U.K.-bound students on Monday at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School.
The New Delhi-based consultants have recently expanded their office in Chennai. Chairman Naveen Chopra said students should concentrate on getting their basic degree in a core subject before branching out to do a specialised post-graduate programme.
"Out of the 40 per cent of students who go abroad, the majority head to the U.S.," he told media persons. The organisation, he said, offers free basic career advice.
They do not charge any fee for processing applications to universities in the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.
For other countries, including the U.S., the rates are anywhere between Rs.5,000 and Rs.15,000.
