B.Tech. counselling: Second phase of counselling for B.Tech. programmes offered by the university will begin on August 29. Counselling will be held at the university guesthouse till September 2, according to an official release.

Project awarded: M.R. Anantharaman, faculty of Physics Department in the university, has won an Indo-German project on nanotechnology. Department of Science and German Academic Exchange Service will support the project. The duration of the project is two years.

Workshop: A workshop on fibre optics will begin in the university on August 29.

Organised jointly by International School of Photonics and Centre of Excellence in Lasers and Optoelectronic Sciences, the event will provide a platform for researchers who want to conduct further studies in the field of fibre optics. Nominated: M. Chandrasekharan, Professor of Biotechnology at Cochin University of Science and Technology, has been nominated member of the task force on aquaculture and marine biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The appointment is for a period of three years. The task force will consider new proposals for funding.
