BANGALORE: An armed gang waylaid a man and robbed him of Rs. 25,000 in cash and gold jewellery in J.P. Nagar police station limits on Tuesday. The police said that around 9.30 p.m., four men waylaid Satish, a resident of Hulimavu, near a eucalyptus grove in Kothnur Dinne. They threatened him with knives and robbed him of cash, two gold rings and a chain. On a complaint by Satish, who assists his brother in autorickshaw consultancy firm, the J.P. Nagar police have registered a case.
House burgled
Burglars struck at a nurse's house in Kengeri police station limits and made away with electronic gadgets and home appliances. The police said the thieves had entered Lakshmi Bai's house in Nisarga Layout by breaking open the rear door when she was away from the house. The incident came to light on Tuesday night. The Kengeri police have registered a case.
Killed in accident
Mahadevaiah (35), a pedestrian, was killed after a goods carrier hit him near Kadirenahalli park in Banashankari police station limits around 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday. He was a native of Dharwad district and was a construction worker. The Banashankari traffic police have registered a case. In another incident, a man aged around 25, was found dead in Madivala police station limits in the early hours of Wednesday. The police said that around 4 a.m., they noticed the body on HSR Layout Ring Road. The body had head injuries and the police suspect that he could have fallen from a lorry.
