ANANTAPUR: District Collector Dasari Kadmial has urged officials and non-governmental organisations to encourage the poor and Dalits to develop the lands assigned under the Indira Prabha scheme - Comprehensive Land Development Programme (CLDP). At a meeting to monitor the implementation of the scheme here on Thursday, he said departments like the DWMA, the SC, ST and BC Corporations, the DRDA, the Horticulture and others should coordinate with one another to make the scheme a major success. Explaining the progress of the scheme, Project Director of DWMA E.N. Srinivasulu said that it was envisaged to develop 31,725 acres belonging to 11,379 poor, Dalits and tribals with Rs. 48.47 crores under the scheme. He said that 27,810 acres in 530 blocks had been made cultivable by spending Rs. 11 crores.
