NGO Sangh holds dharna for 12.5 per cent bonus

Staff Reporter

KOLLAM: The Kerala NGO Sangh held a dharna in front of the Collectorate here to press its demand of 12.5 per cent bonus for Government employees. State secretary of Kerala NGO Sangh A. Anil Kumar inaugurated the dharna.

The NGO Sangh's other demands included raising of pension age to 60; rectifying shortcomings in pay revision; release of pending Dearness Allowance and release of 32 days salary that was withheld on the grounds of employees' strike.

In a statement, the Kerala NGO Association (Mangat) said with the pay revision coming into effect, even class IV employees have been denied bonus.

`LDF not ready'

District president of the association S. Ulhas Kumar said for the past 20 years, the employees have been demanding that the salary slab for bonus be raised. But the LDF Government is not prepared to present the case before the Centre. As a result, only 3 per cent of State Government employees will be entitled to bonus this time.
