Bus on fire

FIERY ACCIDENT: An MTC bus on Route No. 114 caught fire on late Thursday near Kolathur on Inner Ring Road. Eyewitnesses and passengers said the bus broke down near the Rettai Eri Junction at 8-30 p.m. Even as the passengers got down from the bus, and a mechanic noticed a diesel leak, the vehicle caught fire. No passenger was injured, though the mechanic suffered minor burns. Two fire engines extinguished the blaze in a few minutes. The photograph of the burning bus was sent to The Hindu by Laksh mipathi, a staff attached to Everwin School, Kolathur.
