Water supply disruption

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The supply of drinking water to areas serviced by the Kerala Water Authority's (KWA) reservoir at Observatory Hills and Thirumala would be disrupted from 6 p.m. on Saturday August 26 to 10 a.m. on Sunday August 27. The areas that would go without water include Vellayambalam, Palayam, Sasthamangalam, Vazhuthacaud, Statue, Kunnumpuram, Ayurveda College and adjoining areas, Overbridge, Kannammoola, Pettah, Chakka, Veli, PMG, Pattom, Poojappura, Karamana, Kalady, Kulathara, Thaliyal, Pappanamcode, and Niramonkara.

Youths drowned

Thiruvananthapuram: Two youth who went to bathe in the Vamanapuram river were drowned on Thursday while others of the group were rescued by the local people. The deceased were identified as Sajith, 19, of Manja, Nedumangadu, and Sherief, 18, of Panavoor, both students of AED ITI. — Staff Reporter
