Reception for Catholicos

KOCHI: The Jacobite Syrian Church Youth Association will celebrate the fourth anniversary of the assumption of office by Catholicos Baselios Thomas I and his 78th birthday, and accord a reception for the six recently ordained bishops in Moovattupuzha on Sunday.

Fisheries Minister S. Sarma is scheduled to inaugurate a public meeting at Melam Auditorium at 5 p.m. The meeting will be preceded by a reception to the Catholicos and the bishops at the BOC Junction. Youth association president Mathews Mar Ivaniosis will preside over the meeting in which Public Works Minister P.J. Joseph will be the chief guest. Saju Paul, T.U. Kuruvilla, M.M Monaye and Bau Paul, MLAs; former Minister T.M. Jacob, UDF convener P.P. Thankachan, former MLA Johney Nellore and Moouvattupuzha municipal chairperson Mary John Thottam are among those who will offer felicitation.
