Bangarappa seeks CBI probe into bribery charge

BANGALORE: Former Chief Minister and president of the State unit of Samajwadi Party S. Bangarappa has appreciated the courage and confidence of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy in facing the bribery charge against him and two of his Cabinet colleagues.

Speaking to presspersons on Friday, Mr. Bangarappa, however, demanded that the Government give its consent to a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the Rs. 150 crore bribery charge.

He said that though the Government had ordered a judicial inquiry into the allegation, the terms of reference 5left many grounds uncovered.
