GUNTUR: Five hundred shooters of 16 units of Andhra Pradesh police will participate in the 49th State Police Shooting competitions to be organized at Undavalli Shooting Range near Mangalgiri from Saturday till Tuesday. The Andhra Pradesh Special Police will host the championships to be inaugurated by Director-General of Police Swaranjit Sen at 8.30 a.m, APSP RSI Shantaraj said.
Gesture of solidarity
CPI State secretary K. Narayana visited the relay hunger strike of the Indian Chamber of Commerce on Friday and expressed his party's solidarity with their agitation. Mr. Narayana gave call to the student community to fight for the rights of the students, agitate for timely release of grants for scholarships, funds to the schools and colleges, and improving the standards of education at all levels. The party in association with AISF would wage a war against the cola drinks. AISF national president P. Murali, CPI district secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao and other leaders attended the three-day inaugural of the AISF 70th State conference to coincide with the anniversary. AISF students from various districts took out a rally from different parts of the city to congregate at the Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram for the meeting.
