Sai Meera finishes 26th

NEW DELHI: India's Sai Meera (5.5 points) finished 26th in the ninth Obert international open chess tournament after losing her ninth and final round game to Spain's Jorge Cuadras Avellana at Banyoles, Spain, on Thursday.

Swati Mohota (five) defeated Dutchman Lance Oldenhuis to take the 51st spot, two ahead of Prasanna Rao (five), who lost to another Dutchman Dennis Ruijgrok. Veteran Victor Korchnoi (seven) topped a six-way tie to the take the title.
