HYDERABAD:
Mr. M. N. Mani, advocate of R. Prameela, resident of Vinayaka Nagar, Padipeta village, Tirupati Rural Mandal writes:
"This refers to a news item published on page 3 of The Hindu dated August 15, 2006 under the caption "Land row creates another problem for TTD officials" and the sub-head "Another dispute".
"The Bhudan movement of Acharya Vinobha Bhave is in no way connected with the lands as mentioned in the report.
It was not donated to Acharya Vinobha Bhave during his visit in the 1950s in the course of his Bhudan movement...
The lands belonged to M/s Anthyodaya Mandali ... and it is purely a private society registered under the Societies Act".
"My client states that you have falsely mentioned in the news item that the said land is worth about Rs.10 crore.
She is unable to understand how you have assessed the worth of the land... "
"She is ex-sarpanch of Vippamanipatteda panchayat, Renigunta Mandal. She is a bonafide purchaser for proper and valid consideration.
Because of your false publication, my client was put to shame in the public ... and subjected to mental agony".
