ANANTAPUR: The Tadipatri police solved the murder case of Congress activist and follower of J.C. Diwakar Reddy P. Kulasekhar Reddy of Chukkaluru on Friday and arrested four persons, all relatives and friends of the deceased. Giving details to Tadipatri DSP T. Nagabhushanam said K. Gopal Reddy and I. Lakshamana Murthy of Chukkaluru and A. Nagi Reddy and N. Laxmi Reddy of Tadipatri were allegedly involved in the torching of Kulashekhar Reddy in his car on the way to Chukkaluru on the night of August 11. The murder created a sensation as Kulashekhar was charred to death in his car in an orchard belonging to his political rival Vishwanatha Reddy of the CPI of the same village. Accordingly, on the complaint of K. Gopal Reddy, one of the accused now, the police had registered a case against Vishwanatha Reddy and nine of his followers. There were difference between the deceased and the four held on the charge of killing him. Kulasekhar Reddy was learnt to have assured Gopal Reddy before the recent gram panchayat elections that he would ensure the sarpanch post to him (Gopal Reddy). But, due to pressure from relatives and other political consideration, the deceased had fielded his mother in the election and had got her elected.
