Bangalore: The Indian cricket team scheduled to tour Malaysia for the tri-series commencing on September 12, will have a staggered training camp in Bangalore followed by two practice matches in Chennai. According to official sources, the training camp is tentatively scheduled to begin here on August 29. In the earlier camps all the players trained together but in the latest camp proposed by the team management, the 15-member team will be split into three units of five each and each unit will have separate training stints under the quartet of coach Greg Chappell, trainer Gregory King, physio John Gloster and bio-mechanist Ian Frazer. The players of the first two units will fly back home after their training stints, while the last batch, expected to feature senior players such as captain Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, will finish their training on September 7 and fly to Chennai where they will be joined by the 10 players of the earlier two units. The players will then have two practice matches in Chennai on September 8 and 9 before leaving for Kuala Lumpur on September 10. The tri-series, that also features Australia and the West Indies, will conclude on September 24.
