`This incentive would be given on the pattern of doctors of Haryana Civil Medical Services'
CHANDIGARH: Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh on Friday announced that doctors working at the B.D.S. Post-graduate Institute (PGI) of Medical Sciences in Rohtak would also get the benefit of counting their Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) as part of their pay towards pension benefits. He said this incentive would be given to the PGI doctors on the pattern of doctors of Haryana Civil Medical Services (HCMS). Only the other day the Finance Minister had announced a similar benefit for the doctors working in various departments including Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ayurveda and Unani. The doctors are getting NPA at the rate of 25 per cent of their basic pay. Mr. Birender Singh said that this decision would benefit the doctors with an increase of about 12.5 per cent in their pension. Earlier, this benefit was admissible only to the Haryana Civil Medical Services doctors, he added.
