`Publicise progress of Telangana under Congress'

Special Correspondent

Chief Minister's call to party MLAs

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked Telangana Congress MLAs to give wide publicity to the progress made by Telangana region in the last two years.

Directing the MLAs to spurn Telangana Rashra Samiti's charges against the ruling party here on Friday, he said the Congress Government had implemented several developmental programmes in the region.

The TRS attack on the Congress was meaningless as its leaders were speaking more out of frustration in losing their popularity as was evident in the recent local body elections.

`Adopted son'

Dr. Reddy said he was "an adopted son of Telangana" and would work for the benefit of every Telangana village. Even the AICC president Sonia Gandhi had a special liking for the region and was always inquiring about the welfare of its people, a release said.

Asking the Congress leaders to explain the development of Telangana properly to the people he said the final judgement regarding betrayal of Telangana should be left to the people.
