Offices urged to install open source software

HYDERABAD: A two-day workshop on `Open Office' software for district Revenue Officers and district Informatics Officers began at Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute here on Friday.

Institute's Director-General M. Narayana Rao inaugurated the workshop while Additional DG Phani Kumar said that proprietary software was becoming expensive. "Offices should install open source software like Open Office which is free and easily downloadable," he noted.
