Baby abandoned in train

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A newborn girl was abandoned in a coach of Shatavahana Express at Secunderabad railway station on Friday. Passengers heard the cries of the baby as the train was about to leave for Vijayawada.

When they checked the apartment, the baby wrapped in a bag was found beneath a seat. "My children first spotted the bag and said there is chick inside. We grew suspicious on hearing the baby's cries and pulled it out," a passenger Suguna said. A railway employee Anita is presently looking after the baby.
