Karunakar Reddy is TTD Chairman

Staff Reporter

TIRUPATI: The Government has named Bhumana Karunakar Reddy as new Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board. He succeeds Union Minister T. Subbirami Reddy. He is an ex-officio member of the TTD board by virtue of holding the post of Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority .

Significantly, Mr. Reddy is the second person from Tirupati to be nominated to the coveted post after R. Nadamuni Reddy in the sixties, and the third from Chittoor district after D.K. Audikesavulu, who is presently member of Parliament (Chittoor).

A close confidant of the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr. Karunakar Reddy was among the handful of sincere followers who accompanied him throughout his `padayatra' undertaken before coming to power. Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, Mr. Reddy named the Srivari Temple, the Lord's devotees and the TTD employees as his priority areas for development.
