President refers petition against Manmohan, Chidambaram to EC

New Delhi: A petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram as Members of Parliament has been referred by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to the Election Commission.

No details are available of who filed the petition. But the petition seeks disqualification on the ground that Dr. Singh and Mr. Chidambaram are holding offices of profit as trustees of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. — PTI
