Water supply to be

affected

Water supply may be disrupted on Saturday at Nandini Layout, Mahalakshmi Layout, Prakashnagar, Gopalapura, Kasturinagar, Basaveshwaranagar slum, Rajajinagar 6th Block, Basaveshwaranagar 3rd block, Kamalanagar, KHB Colony, Kamakshipalya, J.C. Nagar and surrounding areas.

This is due to power disruption at Brindavan feeder at Yeshwanthpur on Friday, according to a press release from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

Biodiversity

panel meets

The biodiversity committee set up by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) to look into biodiversity protection in the city met on Friday for the first time. Among those who attended the meet were Yellappa Reddy (chairman); Mangala Sridhar (deputy chairperson); K. Jairaj, BMP Commissioner, and Suresh Heblikar, environmentalist. The committee is set to meet again on September 4.

Devotional song competition

Constable attacked

A police constable on duty suffered a severe head injury after he was attacked with an iron rod in Peenya police station limits on Thursday.

The police said that around 11.30 p.m. Abdul Rehman and Manjunath, constables attached to the Peenya station, were checking vehicles on Hesaraghatta Road.

When they stopped a two-wheeler that did not have a number plate, the man riding pillion hit Rehman on the head with an iron rod.
