Complaint filed against councillor

BIJAPUR: The City Municipal Council has filed criminal complaint against a Congress councillor Gulappa Siddappa Shetgar, a former CMC president, for allegedly getting municipal property worth over Rs. 1 crore registered in his name illegally.

According to the complaint filed by Commissioner L. Sonne Gowda with Gandhi Chowk police here on Thursday, Mr. Shetgar allegedly created fake documents as if the CMC had adopted a resolution giving the property in prime locations to Kashinath Shivashankar Bilagi, a resident of Bijapur on a 99-year lease, and the latter handed over the power of attorney to the former.
