DRC meeting not a proper forum to raise such an issue: in-charge Minister

NALGONDA: The district review committee meeting on Saturday rejected the Telangana Rashtra Samiti's demand for adopting a resolution to carve out a separate State for Telangana. As soon as the DRC met at the Collectorate, K. Nagesh, TRS MLA, requested Ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana and K. Jana Reddy to pass a resolution favouring the separate State. However, Nomula Narasimhaiah of the CPI (M) said the resolution passed by a district body would not help the TRS . "There is no use of a resolution from DRC since the issue should be dealt by the Union and the State Governments," he said. Reiterating Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy's stand , Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy of the Congress said that passing a resolution would be futile.
