HYDERABAD: A total of 2.98 lakh candidates will appear for the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination-2006 for recruitment of teachers scheduled to begin on September 9.

School Education Minister N. Rajyalakshmi told reporters here on Saturday that the DSC would be conducted on September 9, 10 and 11 at 1,279 centres in all districts. The examination was scheduled from August 29, but was postponed due to floods.

A total of 20,193 teachers would be recruited through the DSC. The Minister said hall-tickets were being dispatched to the districts. Special counters would be opened by the District Educational Officers from August 28 to 30. Candidates could also download the hall-tickets from the website www.aponline.gov.in. She said the Director of School Education was monitoring the arrangements on a regular basis and taking steps for smooth conduct of the exam. A separate cell would be established in the directorate and in all the districts from September 1.
